Course description

The course aims to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for conducting the numerous research activities involved in a design project. Students will learn how to perform comprehensive secondary research to identify data sources and analyse the context of a project, followed by primary research to understand and gather stakeholder requirements with particular emphasis on ethnographic methods. Additionally, it will cover research methods for including stakeholders in the design process and evaluating a project in its later development stages. In order to embed research methods in the social sciences framework from which they are derived, the course will introduce some fundamental concepts from the disciplines of anthropology and sociology.

The following code changes the label of the Professors list. If the course has differentiated offer (PS1 ≠ PS2), the label of the first list has the "(PS1)" specification, instead of only "Professors" (default). If the professor is only one, the label is changed with "Professor" (singular).
