Educational Objectives
The specific educational objectives of the PSSD degree are the development in the graduate of the following competences and skills:
- the understanding of the systemic dimension of contemporary artefacts, understood as inseparable sets of products, services, spaces, people, communication and digital artefacts;
- the ability to design the product-service system from a strategic perspective, i.e. able to govern and direct change and innovation in an evolutionary manner, in relation to the changing context and towards overall sustainability;
- interdisciplinarity understood as the aptitude to hybridise different disciplinary domains in the problem definition and resolution phases;
- multiculturalism understood as the sensitivity to deal with and frame design opportunities starting from the specificities and differentiations of the target contexts of the design intervention;
- the ability to analyse and intervene on entire supply systems, understood as the ability to look at the project in systemic terms in the relationship between the various human and non-human components (digital or natural actors);
- the aptitude for entrepreneurship – understood as the ability to articulate around the product-system an enterprise system intended to last over time;
- the ability to narrate, understood as the aptitude first to listen and then to represent phenomena in visual terms, so as to activate and facilitate the strategic conversation and transfer of knowledge between the various stakeholders;
- the ability to work and interact in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, playing the role of a planner with a high degree of leadership, capable of guiding and bringing a group together on a vision, an idea of a desirable future and change.
