Alice Casiraghi

Designer in Circular Economy

View on LinkedIn
The design role is shape-shifting; we need to constantly adapt, be ready to learn and be challenged depending on the context, and that is the beauty of this job.

Alice Casiraghi’s journey in design began with a desire to merge arts and sciences. She studied product design and PSSD, earned a double degree from Tongji University in Shanghai, and started working there with a design studio focusing on medical devices. A subsequent shift to UX design led to roles at IBM iX and the Italian government’s Digital Transformation Team.

After a critical reflection on how we design wasteful objects and services, Alice now leads efforts in the circular economy, focusing on reducing waste by design in various industries and public food systems. She advises future designers to be curious, think systemically beyond the aesthetics, see creative opportunities in limitations, and chase the stories of materials and resources within their context.
